About EDF
EDF Energy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of EDF, the French state-owned energy company.
Between 1998 and 2002, EDF Energy took over London Electricity, SWEB and Seeboard and merged them into its operations. In 2009, EDF Energy acquired British Energy and became one of the largest suppliers of gas and electricity to homes in the UK, with more than five million residential and business customers.

EDF customer score
In October and November 2013 we surveyed 8,525 UK adults, who pay for their household energy, about their experience with their gas and electricity suppliers. For EDF Energy, we received 856 responses in this survey.
Customer scores are based on overall satisfaction and likelihood of recommending to a friend. This survey is the largest one of its kind conducted in the UK.
