After a fourteen month break, Utilita re-launched into the UK domestic energy market with three three tariffs, energysaver, energysaverplus and planetsaver in February 2007.
The planetsaver tariff saves energy at no additional cost to the customer. Customers also receive a high level of planetpoints, a Free Home Energy Survey and energy saving advice.
As when Utilita entered the market initially back in 2004 with the tariffs get80, get130, get180 and get280 the concept of reference prices is being applied again.
As a guide Utilita calculate their Energy Saving Tariffs from a Reference Price. The Reference Prices being used is as follows:
The Utilita planetsaver tariff prices are set at these Reference Prices plus 10% to assist with Utilita’s own rating and data quality. Discounts are then applied to achieve specific end-pricing results. These discounts may change from time to time.
Customers electing for the planetsaver tariff will also be entitled to 3 planetpoints per £1 spent on energy as billed.
With the planetsaver tariff automatically 2.5 out of every 3 planetpoints earned are automatically redeemed for the supply of 100% renewable electricity and carbon offset gas. Customers can if they wish opt out of this option.
If you wish to see just how competitive the planetsaver tariff is from Utilita please feel free to use any of the following free 100% impartial comparison tools:
