SSE Swalec

SWALEC, which stands for South Wales Electricity, is an electricity company supplying Wales which was bought out in 2000 by SSE Group and has since become SSE SWALEC. It now provides both gas and electricity to its customers.

Today SSE is one of the "Big Six" Energy suppliers in the UK. They currently supply more than 8 million domestic energy customers throughout Britain. SSE is also the UK largest generator of renewable energy. This includes over 1450MW of hydro generation and 840MW of wind capacity and they currently have more onshore and offshore wind farms under development.
