OVO tariffs
With over 4,000 different energy tariffs in the UK, choosing the right one can be confusing. OVO decided to keep things nice and simple and offer just two. OVO looked at the things customers want – great value, not paying a premium to be green, protection from price hikes and hassle-free payments – and came up with:

- The OVO green energy plan

- Great value – being new, OVO uses the latest technology to be more efficient and keep costs low – savings that it passes on to customers.
- Fixed price – it’s frustrating and difficult when spikes in energy prices cause your bill to skyrocket. OVO’s fixed price plan helps you manage the household budget by guaranteeing the price you pay per unit of energy won’t go up even if wholesale market prices do.
- 15% green energy – OVO thinks that increasing the demand for renewable energy will lead to an increase in supplies so it mixes some in even though this isn’t its ‘green tariff’. It means you’re doing your bit without paying a green premium.
- Paperless billing – another way of doing your bit for the planet. Sending your bills by email saves energy and trees.
- Direct debit – receiving payments by direct debit means OVO doesn’t have to think about extra costs associated with old fashioned bills – like people forgetting to pay on time – so the costs savings here are passed onto customers. It also makes life easier for you.
The OVO green energy plan
- This tariff has all of the benefits of the OVO new energy plan except it’s 100% green electricity. It is by necessity a little more expensive than the new energy plan but it’s still better value than a lot of other standard tariffs.
