npower Price Increases
npower, the retail arm of RWE Innogy have today announced increases to their gas and electricity prices effective from 1 October 2004.
npower is the first tier supplier to customers in the Midlands Electricity, Yorkshire and Northern Electricity distribution areas and with a total of around 7 million customer accounts are one of the largest energy companies operating in the UK. In Scotland npower have around 70,000 electricity customers and 80,000 gas customers.
Based on a medium domestic user (19,050 kWhs of gas and 3,300 kWhs of electricity per annum) these latest increases amount to average increase of 12.37% for gas and 5.91% for electricity throughout the UK.
The areas where npower are incumbent supplier are worst hit with average electricity prices increasing by 8.66%.
