Juice was launched by npower on the 1st August 2001.
Although no longer linked to Greenpeace, juice had been created as a result of an alliance between Greenpeace and npower and was forged to provide a pioneering 'clean' electricity product to customers, as a practical solution to help tackle global warming. It was the first time Greenpeace and an energy company had worked together to market a consumer energy product. Their product was aptly named Juice.
Today the ‘values’ of juice remain largerly unchanged, Juice is:

Juice is generated from a number of renewable energy sources, primarily at North Hoyle Offshore Wind Farm. As a Juice customer, npower matches every unit of normal electricity that you use and feeds the same amount, generated from renewable sources, into the electricity network*. It's as simple as that.
There is no premium to pay with Juice. It costs exactly the same as standard npower electricity.

* npower will estimate your Juice energy consumption throughout the year until year end when npower check your annual consumption data and ensure the correct amount of renewable energy has been purchased to cover your annual consumption.
