EBICo reduce gas and electricity prices

EBICo, the not for profit gas and electricity supplier has announced a reduction in their gas and electricity prices with effect from today.
The reduction in gas prices is 2.52% and this applies in every region.
The reduction in electricity prices averages 7.74% across all regions ? the best reduction is in the Southern Electric region where the reduction is 9.62% and the worst in Scottish Hydro-Electric?s area where the reduction is only 4.49%
Scottish and Southern Energy, domestic energy price cut

Scottish and Southern Energy have today announced a price cut across its domestic electricity and gas tariffs that will see the average prices for customers fall by 9% on electricity and 4% for gas.
The price cut will apply to existing customers from 30th March 2009. This is the second major energy supplier to reduce domestic energy prices within the last few weeks.

As an industry first they are fitting Smart Meters to every single customer whenever they transfer to them and with immediate effect are doing so for free.
British Gas 10% price cut!!

British gas has announced today that it will cut gas prices by 10% from 19 February 2009. The reduction will apply to all customers on British Gas? standard tariff, benefiting more than 7.5 million homes.
British Gas is already one of the most competitive suppliers across the UK with their flagship WebSaver 1 tariff launched on the 18th December.
The cut in gas prices of 10% by British Gas will save a typical customer on their standard domestic tariff around £79 per year.
Bizz Energy now in administrative receivership

Worcester based Bizz Energy is the latest victim of increases in wholesale energy costs and having appointed KPMG to carry out a quick auction after struggling to refinance its debts has now been placed in administrative receivership.
All 40,000 electricity customers across its SME and corporate networks are being transferred to British Gas Business for a cash consideration of £3.5million.
From a customer viewpoint British Gas Business will maintain existing contract terms and conditions.
Electricity4Business collapse, thousands of businesses face higher energy bills

Milton Keynes based energy supplier Electricity4Business (E4B) has been placed in adminstration with the appointment of PWC as administrator. E4B has around 160 staff and hopes are that PWC will find a quick buyer to save the company going under altogether.
From a customer viewpoint British Gas has been appointed by OFGEM as the replacement supplier to all E4B energy customers from the 24th October.
Under the terms of their appointment British Gas do not need to honour the existing E4B contracts in place and customers are free to shop around for a new supplier without any penalty, the best place to start such a hunt is www.billscutter.com, a leading independent energy broker specialising in commercial energy contracts.
